About
The Moroccan Tournament of Young Mathematicians (MTYM) is an esteemed competition organized by Math&Maroc, aimed at nurturing and showcasing the mathematical talents of young students in Morocco. This tournament provides a platform for budding mathematicians to challenge themselves, engage in problem-solving, and connect with peers who share their passion for mathematics. Through rigorous and stimulating mathematical challenges, MTYM seeks to inspire the next generation of mathematicians and encourage a deeper appreciation for the subject.
Design Process
When designing the logo for MTYM, I aimed to create a bold and impactful visual identity that would reflect the seriousness and excitement of the competition. My first step was to focus on the elements that would best represent the event and its participants. I chose to use large, interconnected letters "MTYM" to create a strong, cohesive mark.
During the design process, I realized that incorporating a meaningful symbol within the negative space could add depth and sophistication to the logo. I decided to use the map of Morocco as the negative space element, symbolizing the national scope of the competition and the pride of the participants in representing their country.
Color Choice
The primary color for the MTYM logo is a deep teal, chosen for its associations with intelligence, stability, and sophistication. Teal is a color that strikes a balance between the calmness of blue and the energy of green, making it an ideal choice for an academic competition. It conveys a sense of trust and reliability, important qualities for an educational initiative.
Typography
The typography in the MTYM logo is bold and modern, with clean lines that convey strength and confidence. The choice of a sans-serif typeface ensures readability and a contemporary look, appealing to the young participants while maintaining a professional appearance. The interlocking letters create a sense of unity and connectedness, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the tournament. The sharp angles and geometric precision of the typography align with the logical and structured nature of mathematics, reinforcing the event's focus.
We’re thrilled with how it turned out, especially as it's the second time we've worked together, and you’ve consistently exceeded our expectations ! Thank you !
