We pride ourselves on offering ethically sourced, artisan coffee that’s as cheerful as our name suggests. With a playful yet welcoming environment, Mirth&Mug is your go-to spot for both relaxation and connection.
Design Process
When developing the brand identity for Mirth&Mug, the idea of joy and comfort was central to the design. I wanted the logo to reflect the lighthearted, friendly atmosphere that the café embodies. The decision to use a cheerful cat logomark came from the notion that cats, with their playful and relaxed nature, perfectly represent the balance between fun and calm that Mirth&Mug aims to provide. The cat’s face is designed to appear happy and inviting, much like the experience we strive to create for our customers. The paw print integrated into the "M" in the logo further reinforces this playful touch, while maintaining simplicity and clarity.
Color Choice
The color palette for Mirth&Mug was selected to evoke warmth and simplicity. The black and white scheme offers versatility and elegance, but it’s the logo's playful cat that adds the element of fun. The neutral background ensures that the bold black logo stands out, while allowing flexibility in applying various accent colors within the café's interiors, packaging, and promotional materials. This simple color choice mirrors the café's mission of providing an uncomplicated yet joyful coffee experience.
Typography
The typography for Mirth&Mug is sharp and modern, with clean, angular edges that give it a distinct and confident feel. I chose this “General Sans” font, sharp-edged style to balance the playful cat illustration with a more structured and professional look. The typography’s boldness ensures legibility, while the sharp edges convey a sense of precision and quality, reflecting the high standards of the café’s coffee and service.
